did you grow your cherry tree from a pip or from a small bush..,
if you want them to stop being pecked at put some mess over the tree, it will hopefully stop the little critters from wanting a nibble..

Hi gorgeous, im just eating some of my home made blackberry jam, that the wife and i made.
Netting is one way.
Another, is a moving device of somesort, i would reccomend a windmill of sorts, that made an annoying sound.
Remember to give the tree water at might roughy 5 liters for every meter in height

What's so bad about having your cherries picked? If they are good cherries, they should be shared around! There are not enough good cherries about

lock them away, far out of reach of the annoying peckers!
netting works for trees, although other cherries require a more stout barrier... ;-)

It's a little late to ask that now isn't it?
These peckers can be a problem, have you tried covering them in baggy old tights?
