He's a Filipino poet who wrotes in English in the postwar period. He was born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte but grew up in Lubuagan, Mt. Province. He then stayed with his uncle to study high school in Pasig, which he considered to be full of poverty, extreme loneliness, and adolescent pains.
