Is it, for example, the chance to be contravertial, funny,helpful...I am just interested to see what people get out of it...Personally I like to TRY to be a bit funny and contravertial..and of course Helpful!

Well....What I like is the idea of Y A being a community. People from all different walks of life and different nationalities, all choosing to answer different questions in different ways.
Some of the answers make me laugh, and some of the questions are thought provoking.
The way I answer questions depend on my mood, and the type of question asked. Sometimes there's a question asked by someone who is genuinely suffering, and I try to answer carefully and with sympathy. It feels as if I might have helped in some small way.
Then there are questions which wind me up, especially if they seem ignorant, racist or sexist, and then I have an opportunity to tell them what I think of them!
I find I can learn from some of the questions and answers.
If I feel like escaping from my world, I can come on Y A, and still be in communication with the world, but take a break from my world for a while.
I like the way I can use Y A if I have a problem, and within a few seconds receive a variety of different responses. I work as a therapist, but sometimes you can't work out your own problems. Sometimes someone will give me as answer that I haven't thought of and that feels fantastic.
It's also a great feeling to be chosen as best answer!
I like it when people contact me if something about my answer moves them - in whatever way. Some of them are abusive ! But it is all communication, and it feels safe, because I'm anonymous, hiding behind my avatar.
I like making people laugh, so it's great if I can do that too.

I like to be funny and some of the questions make my day sometimes and if i do get to help someone with my answer then that makes me feel good and also a way to make some on line friends.

On the asking side : I like that you can have an answer to something, but still want the opinion of an everyday person...just to see what others have done, or how things may have worked out in their case.
On the answering side: I love to help others out. It gives you a chance to give a little bit of harmless advice.

it passes the time at work! It is very addictive though, and when i am answering questions i try putting a bit of humour into the answers. I enjoy the fact that i might be helping some people and yet making others laugh!

I like the opportunity to air my views whilst reading other peoples its not often you get a chance to hear some many views from such a diverse cross section of modern culture Yahoo Answer is the perfect forum for this and in fact has reinstalled some of my faith in the people of Britain.

Well its great to get specific querys answered. You can do a search on the internet for the query that you may have. However asking a question relating to the query can give you better information. And of course it is also very nice to help someone if you know the answer to a question.

The multiplicity of questions is great and the humour in some of the answers is priceless.
The effort put into answering some of the questions beggars belief.
The knowledge shown by so many ordinary folks shows us that, there are still a lot of intelligent people 'out there'.

I like it as I get to help others with my knowledge and wisdom (not that there's much of the latter). I also like to make people laugh, as that's always fun!
I do occasionally ask questions, but only when I can't get the answers elsewhere.

There is a answer for every question and it is specially here in Yahoo.You ask 1 question and will get variety answer.Every difficult question is solved with funny,tricky and helpful...Of course

I find it can be useful.
There is some technical question I asked, I was glad someboby very knowledgeable came with the answer and that sorted out my problem.
Also, I am happy to help if I can answer to other's questions.
It is fun as well.
