because PARENTS refuse to accept responsibility. I have news for people, I went to public school, I watch(ed) scary and violent movies, and I play the video games with violence. I dont' want to kill anyone nor do I even have a speeding ticket on my driving record. Why? because my PARENTS taught me the difference between reality and fantasy and taught me that there are repricussions for my actions that I am responsible for.

Because most people don't like to take responsibility for their actions but find it much easier to put the blame on others. It's taking the easy way out and this attitude worries me more and more because I see more and more children getting into trouble because of parents not putting any time and energy in raising their children but thinking and expecting that others will do it for them.

Because raising kids is very hard, nowadays noone takes responsibility for their actions including child raising. Too many kids are dealing with broken homes etc. Too many kids are allowed to eat in front of the tv so they have no table manners. The school system seems to have broken down (my stepson was allowed to 'grade' his own work, guess what? he gave himself all A's)
I was brought up in a poor home, with mum and a very strict stepfather (for strict read, children should be seen adn not heard) we had strict bedtimes, behavioural limits etc. Guess what? any character disfunction my mother blames on my natural father!!!
Its so much easier to put the responsibility on other people or blame bad behaviour on the media. Id like to know what makes this generation of parents so happy to blame their bad decisions/parenting on outside sources?

You can be a good parent, but there are alot of outside influences that affect our children..Remember when you were in Jr. highschool, Highschool? Kids were rotten to other kids then, and they still are. No one stops the bullying, and if your poor, god forbid what is done to that kid. TV is filled with sex and violence, and if children watch what they don't understand, that has to have an affect. This is a 2 parent working to just make it era, if your lucky to have 2 parents. There is little to no health care in this country, while the white house is decorated with $thousands of dollars worth of xmas decorations that no one sees. Black tie $government dinners that could pay for our children to have phys/ed back in schools. I could keep going.............

Becuase people want to have children but don't want to be parents. Look at anyone supporting a measure to protect children from the world and it becomes you'll find someone who's to apathetic to raise their own child.

Good question, the answer they don't want to take the responsibility for screwing up as parents. Plain and simple. If people would grow up and take responsibility, as they should if they are parents, they would look in the mirror and say "I blew it, now what am I going to do about it?"
