How hard can a sevrum bite?

I really need to clean the gravel, but mom and dad severum are agressively guarding their recently free swimming fry. The tank is a 55 gal hex, and I have to stick my arm in there.

Assuming it's a large one, not too bad. They don't have large teeth, or a large mouth even when full grown. Show them who's boss and you'll be fine.
