There's nothing wrong with knowing to much about computers, however it is extremely difficult to go through life without computer knowledge now a days. Do you best to be a good father and feel free to ask silly questions if you want to learn more yourself. Most children like teaching their parents it makes them feel smart and this should also help bring you together and get a better understanding of if anything he is doing is or could negatively affect him. He is only 12 there is a lot of stuff available that could be harmful but as long as you've taught him right and wrong he will be fine.

Good Luck.

Sounds like you are fostering a talent. I wouldn't worry about it too much. He will find all the junk he's not suppose to see all in good time. It will make him smarter. You just have to put the morals and ethics into him. Even if he decides not to use them he will one day come back to it. You probably remember to each their own. No big deal.

Useful creative knowledge and having the freedom to use that knowledge is not a bad thing -- if used responsibly.

Teaching responsibility is where you get to come in. Enjoy being a great parent!
