It could be that, or it could just be that Mr. McMahon is a selfish old fool and fired him because he wants to take Melina into his office, and you know...what he did to Candice.

Cuz he needs rest. He had injured something during his I Quit match with RIC and he won't be appearing on TV for a while. he didn't really get fired, it's just part of the storyline.
