Well, that's not very nice.....

But true! I can't stand it, maybe there should be separate department stores for them...

That is assuming we're talking about the same kind of people - the BIG ones, not the slightly overweight size 12s (like me...)

LOL!

Discrimination Against Overweight People
We feel that discrimination against overweight people is not only widely practiced but usually thought of as acceptable. Prejudice against fat people is the only thing left that doesn't fall under the new rules of politcal correctness. Indians are called Native Americans, handicapped people are called physically challenged, and retarded people are called mentally challenged. Don't misunderstand , we agree that these new titles are far more appropriate but why is it that fat people are simply called-fat? You may say that it's because fat people are making a choice to be that way but that is not always the case. There are a number of conditions that can make it very difficult for people to lose weight and who's to say when you see a fat person that they haven't already lost a considerable amount of weight? This goes for thin and thick people alike, don't make blind judgements about people with weight problems!

Medical Problems

We feel that it is most important to address the issue of discrimination against overweight people as it relates to the healthcare field. Although this may not be the area where discrimination is most prevalent (that would probably be the fashion industry) it is certainly the one where the effects can be the most devastating. We have paid many visits to various types of doctors that have produced no diagnosis other than "you need to lose weight." The thing that is most annoying about this statement is that many doctors say it as if you've never thought of that before and that it should be the easiest thing in the world. It's not that we don't believe that being obese can cause a great many health problems, it's that there are a lot of people who have the same medical problems that we have who aren't obese. When these people go to the doctor, extensive testing is done to find out what the problem is. All we ask is that the same testing be done on us and when no other underlying cause can be found for the problem, then tell us to lose weight! Our obesity has been blamed for everything from back pain and swallowing difficulty to infertility and while obesity can certainly cause all of those things, it's a little discouraging to be told that it may go away when you lose weight; until then, deal with it.

You must be very young to be so shallow....Tolerance comes with maturity...
There is likely someone fat in your family, would you like someone to judge them the way you have here?Hey just push them back..stand up for yourself instead of whinning..Making that type of statement you should expect this type of response..
