Okay, I believe Green Day did "sell out" with the American Idiot album. Please understand where I am coming from. They were a 3 piece band when they started, now I have seen up to like 5 or 6 extra people playing on stage with them. And they still advertise themselves as a 3 piece. Billy Joe does very little of the guitar parts, and they can still call themselves a Punk Band. I love the album though. I think the songs are very good, and Billy Joe did an excellent job writing. But all of this extra musician bull **** is pissing me off. I hope some of you will agree with me.

Also, I find it very funny that many people think that Green Day is a new band. A lot of new Green Day "fans" pay little, to no attention to thier previous albums.

This is my opinion, If a band is going to have 3 guitar parts in each song on an album, they should have 3 guitarists.

They do do it for the music.

But if I here American Idiot or Boulevard of Broken Dreams one more time, I'll join in and shoot myself.

I completely agree with you. I love Green Day, past and present but they have changed tremendoously. I still love there f*** you attitude, there music, and there lyrics but i liked it better before. They have back up singers, back up guitarists, and back up everything else.

But at the same time, so does every other band. They became famous as a three piece band: Billie Joe, Mike, and Tre and if they introduced 10 new members, they wouldn't be Green Day anymore.

I just recently went to a Korn show and they had at least 10 people on stage that weren't part of the band, they were just the "crew" but you never see them in the public eye and you never see them on t.v all you see is Jonathon, Munky, David, and Fieldy.

My point is, it's not just Green Day.

I agree! I miss early Green Day! I loved every song on the "Dookie" CD. And now I'm like "if I here Boulevard of broken Dreams one more time I'm gonna shoot something!!!" They don't do it for the music anymore!!!

Well i love all of Green Day's old stuff like Insomniac is my favourite album and they were really awesome back then, yeah they still rock and everything but when i went their shows last year they were still good but they seemed so reluctant to interact with the crowd and things like that. A few years back I went to a show when they were doing the Warning tour and I have to say they were much more fun back then so yeah as much as I hate to say it, I think they did sell out.

I reckon they haven't sold out but i know that suddenly they were a 3 part band and now they are like a six part band. That i don't really understand but i reckon that green day would never sell out although i do prefer their older music!
