What kind of dental tech? lab-worker, hygenist, assistant? Just because he works in the profession, doesnt necessarilly mean that his personal dental care is above reproach. Does he smoke? if so, he needs to stop. does he floss? he could have build-up below the gumline. when did he have his teeth cleaned last? he may need a "deep cleaning" below the gumline. Several of my family members are in the dental industry and you'd be surprised at some of the mouths of people they work with. You'd think dental office workers would have the perfect mouth/smile. not always the case.
what is his diet like? some foods may chemically react with his body make-up. definitlely remove things like garlic & onions. Try removing other things one at a time and see if any of them make a difference. one other thing to try is to rinse with a capfull of Hydrogen Peroxide for about 5 minutes. He can do this while he showers. It kills bacteria that causes bad breath and IS safe, just read the bottle.
Good luck

does he floss too? He might have periodontal disease, which is a disease of the gums (he should know). Brushing is good but doesn't get in between the teeth which is where food gets stuck, bacteria eats away producing toxins which irritate gums causing decay. Try this out: floss, then brush, then use a fluoride mouth rinse morning and night after eating. And make sure he doesn;t eat anything after he does it at night. Two weeks of sticking to this and he should start seeing some improvements...

Ever thought that maybe the bad breath is coming from his stomach and not from his mouth. Give him some liquorish to eat. That helps the digestive system in the stomach. Not the candy the liquorish tablet, get it from the health food store.

Try food combining!
Different kinds of foods require different body chemicals to dissolve them.
Some of these chemicals nuetralize each other, causing the eaten food to putrify in the stomach. Bad breath is a sign of poor digestion.

Your husband should see a doctor. His problem does not originate in his mouth, but in his gastrointestinal system. There are several medical conditions that can cause this symptom. Some of them are serious diseases, so he needs to get this checked out soon.
