it's ok you wanting to get an unusual pet, but at the end of the day no matter what pet you get, you will have to really look after it, so get a pet thats easy to look after and you know you will have the time for..

I know they aren't that unusual but I used to keep pet rats. They are lovely and you can teach them all sorts.

They are ever so affectionate and have the intelligence of dogs I reckon.

Looking after them is the same as looking after a hamster pretty much.

:)

A chinchilla. They are soft, furry, curious, spunky and have no odor. Their fur is considered the softest in the world!

All they need is food, water and a dust bath, with some space to explore.

Read up on them, they are interesting creatures. They cannot tolerate heat, so your home must have air conditioning. Their fur cannot get wet because of the density of it.

We have had our for 4 weeks, and it is the cutest pet we have ever had. Very curious!

good luck!

Get an insect from a specialist supplier. If you don't really know what you want or why, or aren't really comitted to pet keeping, they do the least harm. You can get amazing stick insects and beetles which are easy to breed in this country so don't put any strin on natural wild populations.

You should get a goat. But you need to get two because they can get lonely. You will need a fence to keep them in. Just remember to give them water and worm them every once in a while. They are very easy to take care of and they will keep you lawn cut. No more yard work. But they will destroy any bushes, and small trees in there pen.

Depends - have you got a garden or field at your place then you could get a llama or a donkey but if its a small indoor pet what about a chipmonk or a chinchilla?
