At my first interview last friday they said they received over 30 resume's and that they would be interviewing all this week. They called me this Tuesday and asked if I could come in as soon as possible for 2nd interview with 2 other employees that they have narrowed it down to 2 candidates.

The word “interview” itself makes a person tense and nervous who needs to appear in the interview. It is normal human behaviour to become confused or get tensed but such things can be overcome with practice, learning from seniors and elders, thru own experience. At my time internet was not available. These days Internet is a rich source of information. U can learn many things about the interview by visiting the websites the links of which are given below. On some websites u will find questions also along with answers which are frequently asked and questions pertaining to ur requirement can also be found there provided u surf on them thoroughly and consciously. It will improve ur performance remarkably. If will infuse a high level of confidence in u. It will make u more frank and it will develop diplomatic qualities in u too. Overall, I would say that it will give an impetus to ur personality development.

Go prepared for an offer! Make sure you know where your break points are for salary, vacation, benefits, etc.

They are anxious to fill the position. It's not uncommon to tell a candidate in the first interview that you have a lot of interest and resumes. That way if you don't think the candidate is the one, you can gentle explain the competition was tough. On the other hand, they may have had 30 resumes and you blew their socks off! Either way, they are now interested in YOU. Go with confidence, be professional, but be yourself.

In a second interview it's not uncommon for the hiring company to introduce you to those you would be working directly with. If it's a good company they will be just as interested in whether you think it's a good fit for you and well as them.

Do a little more homework and make sure this is the company you want to spend the next 3-5 years with.

Best of luck.

a second interview is a second interview... usually second interviews are more into details with more difiicult and deep questions that are designed to assess your competencies.
interviewers discuss the offer with the candidate only in final interviews, when they reach a decision!
anyway, be optimistic! there is a chance they interview the other two before you and they decide to hire you throughout the interview with you and that is when they will discuss the offer.

prepare yourself well anyway, you will have to convince them you are much better than the other two.

one more thing i have to mention... there may be no other candidates and they tell you that coz they want you to think you are not the only option they have so that you won't ask for a high package or something! if there is anyway you can investigate about that, it would be great!

They'll probably want to expand on things they asked you about in the first interview, as well as ask further questions. Think back to the questions they asked you last time and make sure that you'll know what to say should the same topics come up again. Put yourself in their position and think about what else they might want to know from you. Think about what you would say in response to these hypothetical questions.

They'll be trying to compare you to the other candidate, so try to think of any weaknesses that might come up and what you could say in response. Don't be afraid to reiterate your strong qualities. Good luck!

Don't get too excited but it sounds to me like you have been "short-listed" for the position. The second interview is likely to be a little pointed so the recruitment team can better assess your suitability for the job.
You can expect questions relating to your suitability for the position - qualifications, experience, etc - and why they should hire you. Just be candid and honest and don't be unnaturally confident.

Good luck.

They will most likely ask you the hard questions at this time. Get the book "Knock 'em Dead" by Martin Yates it has a lot of good answers for hard interview questions.

There is no cause for alarm, out of 30 they have called 3 of which you are one of them.that is a good sign. I tell you just prepare yourself well and face them. Be confident in yourself and pray before going. God will surely be with you. Amen.

well, i guess they'll talk about the salary and other unclear issues.
there is no surprises questions any more and you gotta to sell yourself every way possible as you are an inch close to getting the job.

Don't be too demanding and try to be as flexible as you could. good luck!

Just go. There's no harm going.. You still stand a chance if you go but if you don't you have 0%. Just prepare yourself with anything that they can possibly ask you. Good Luck!
