Well,hes dead,died March 30th in America
Born in Higher Broughton,Salford(near where I live now)in 1908.
studied english at Cambridge
Moved to America,was a journalist.
Did letter From America for 58 years

Yes! Your namesake used to have a Sunday night radio programme on the BBC called 'A Letter from America'. He brought America into our sitting rooms with good humour, honesty and sparkle. He was a well respected man... a bit like good yourself no doubt!
Don't quote me but I'm sure he died last year and his daughter has just written a book about him..I think.
