recruitment is going out to find the people you want, through advertising etc, getting a pool of candidates to choose from.
Selection is choosing the right candidate from the pool

Recruitment is the activity by which fraternities and sororities seek new members (seriously!) while selection is a process in which bacteria with antibiotic resistance survive and multiply....beliee me, I AMN SERIOUS MEEEEEEEN!
