SOme people argue that it is due to the roles that males and females have fulfilled over the generations. Female bodies are deisgned to have babies, nurture, etc. Males have thicker skin and less sensitive skin because we were more likely to be running through the bush, getting scratched, fighting animals etc. It is also why men tend to get pot bellies. It still allows for movement of the arms and legs, etc. for hunting, running.
