The hard core fact remains God ordained marriage from the beginning with Adam & Eve. People were getting married . they had NO problem saying " I DO " to the VOWS , these vows are to God and He says in his word it is better not to make a VOW then to make it and BREAK IT. In those vows I remembering hearing, TILL DEATH DO YOU PART. This may not mean anything to all the people that are getting married & remarried all the time because the commitment is gone from their marriage , but one day their gonna face judgement & when they do , they will wish they had kept their promise to God & their ONE TRUE SPOUSE. It matters not how many times you say I DO, the ONLY one that matters is the FIRST ONE, inless the first one has died. It don't matter if you don't believe in God , He is still real , you will find that out one day, I hope it's not to late when you do. Did you know the church is the Bride of Christ , well can you divorce him & be the bride of another god & go to heaven ? NO YOU CAN NOT

you stand before God and everybody and make a promise. you break the promise or the vow then you lied to God and everybody. marriage is union between man and woman forever no matter what.

There is nothing legal about God. The vows you took were spiritual promises to God and each other 'till death do we part. Man made it 'legal' by putting it in writing. The courts can grant a divorce due to man-made laws. God's laws are the 10 commandants. I believe, first, we need to decide if we live by God's instructions, or are we going to allow man's law to influence us. I understand our license has to be filed in a court office, all due to legal rights, etc..., however I believe this is for the benefit of the children. This is a very hard situation to understand. Marriage is held up as being HOLY. This is why the license has 'Holy Matrimony" at the top. Marriage is the most holiest of communions to God. This is a personal decision. If our spouses were not truthful when stating their vows, then this marriage might seem one-sided. There is a happy medium between God and our laws. Please pray about this. It is to important not to. The most powerful tool we have is prayer. God bless you!

I think you need to go back and re-read the bible, there are other acceptable reasons for divorce outlined in the bible. There are actually pastors that are changing the vow from death to us part to as long as our love endures. I would be careful in judging others - when there are other sins listed in the bible that may hit you close to home. I'm not trying to be mean, but just be careful.

I beleive partly in what you are saying. But what happens when the husband beats the wife to a pulp? I don't think that any God would want you to stay in a situation that endangered yourself or your children.

People change marriages like they change their underwear these days. Commitment means nothing anymore, and it is sooo sad.

Here's one for you personally, my dear:

MATTHEW 7:1-5:
"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull the mote out of thine eye; and behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast the mote out of thy brother's eye."

Now when you walk in another persons shoes, you might get a hint of what a loving and forgiving we have who also forgives those who divorce. God Bless You, oh self-righteous one.
