The Loch Ness Monster, sometimes called Nessie or Ness (Scottish Gaelic: Niseag) is a mysterious and unidentified animal or group of creatures said to inhabit Loch Ness, a large deep freshwater loch near the city of Inverness in northern Scotland.

I'm afraid no one seems to agree on this one - the most popular theory at the moment is that there is some dinosaur-type beastie surving in a big old lake (yes, I know it's not a lake but that's the easiest way I could think of to describe a loch). Ther have been many reported sightings of it - one of the most famous being shown here:

...but there have now been several people who have commented this looks a LOT like an elephant having a swim (top of head showing and the "neck" is in fact its trunk). Circuses apparently used to travel past Loch Ness and let the elephants have a drink and a swim there, so it's a plausible theory.

There's no utterly irrefutable evidence of any monster there. But it is a mighty huge body of water, so no one wants to be the first to say there CAN'T be anything unknown living there, hence the legend has survied for so long.

Hy cooldude,i fear the answer to your question is that there isn't a monster..but i'me no expert!!My answwer is based on the fact that, with sooo many scientific tests and experiments carried out on the loch from AT LEAST the 1940's,one would have thought that SOMETHING would have been found, seen,or heard by now.so i can only "assume" that it was, still is,and "probably" will be,for all time,a tourist attraction, and nothing more..happy hunting dood!!!
