I'm pregnant with my first child and want to use this as a technique during birth. however, I cant seem to find any decent therapists in norfolk - I dont want to have to travel to London or further to get this therapy.
Also, has anyone used this method - how did you find it during birth? would you recommend it?

Hi

After an emergency C-Section and postnatal depression with my first son I was determined to do things differently with my second (now 10 months). It turned out that I had a planned section for completely different reasons but they made that a lovely experience too.

I couldn't get to hypnobirthing classes so I used these :

They were brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recommended them to my friend and she also had a fantastic pregnancy and labour.

I did a one to one hypnobirthing day with a therapist from Manchester - she came to my house and worked through the whole course in 5 hours. Expensive but worth every penny. I had an induction at 14 days past DD and didn't need any form of pain relief other than the hypnosis techniques taught me. If you do the official hypnobirthing course you will have affirmation and relaxation tapes/cds to use in your own time. Check out hypnobirthing.com for practitioners in your area. Highly recommend this method for labour and birth, the most empowering and rewarding experience of my life so far.

You can buy the literature and CDs separately from the site too. If you can't find a practitioner find a hypnotherapist to take you through 'fear release' and work through the hypnobirthing stuff yourself.
