No Man United are still the most hated and have been for as long as I can remember (1970's). It's the fans you see, a huge majority of them are arrogant, obnoxious twats.
Chelsea have shut the manc scum up and that will do for me!!!

I've been a Chelsea fan for as long as I can remember and Chelsea as a team have always been hated for one reason or another.
These days it's because they have pots of cash and are successful so it's just human nature for people to be jealous.
They are also accused of ruining the transfer market because of the outrageous amounts of money they pay for players but that makes absoluetly no sense at all when you consider that there must be £10m floating around on the loss incurred on Damien Duff alone.
During the 70's they were hated because all the players were seen as Flash Harry's parading up and down the Kings Road in their designer clothes and going to parties all the time.
The 80's we're probably the decade in which they were probably least hated because we had a couple of seasons in the old division 2 and other supporters I'm sure found time to have a little giggle, or more likely a large chuckle at our expense.
I particullaly remember being ribbed at school by Watford fans because instead wanting to be John Barnes or Luther Blissett at school playtime I always wanted to be Kerry Dixon. How surreal !!!
During the 90's, particullaly towrds the late 90's Chelsea we're hated because of the amount of foreign players we had. Being the first team to field an entirely foriegn starting XI probably was when the hatred reached a peak but then again Arsenal got ribbed quite a bit for fielding an entire squad of foriegn imports recently.
Obviously I've pointed out a few "Footballing" reasons why Chelsea are hated. We can't forget how much football violence has played a part in Chelsea's downfall but to dwell on that too much would give the mindless idiots who took part in all that nonsense something to be proud of.
As for Manchester Utd being also rans I think that far from the truth. Being a Chelsea Fan as I am you have to give Man Utd respect, I think they will be our closest rivals this year and it'll be very tight at the end of the season. Still can't admit to ever wanting them to win a game though !! Not even when I was jumping out my seat screaming them on during that epic Champions League final - OOP's shouldn't have admitted that, sorry fellow Chelsea fans !!!

Its all down to the British public hating successful teams.Liverpool were hated in the 80s,Man utd in the 90s and now Chelsea.I think people hate Chelsea now because of 1 man who seems to have unlimited amounts of money to splash out on the so called best players and paying way over the odds for them.

I don't think so. There is something about Man Utd that instills hate in everyone who doesn't support them. I'm sure it's got something to do with the fact that most of their supporters aren't from Manchester and the fact they think they are above the law, just look at the amount of penalties awarded at Old Trafford.
It is a human trait that we don't like succesful teams but I don't think Chelsea have surpassed Man Utd yet.

No!!! Manure Utd continue to be reviled more than any other team, its just that now Manure Utd fans have a team to moan about, an we know the red top press love all things Manure Utd then we hear more. Good luck to Chelsea anyone who stops Manure Utd is good in my book. At least they have genuine fans at Chelsea mental fans but genuine.

When MU won everyone hated them, now when Chelsea started winning it's their turn to be hated! But I think what people feel for Chelsea is not hatred, it's some kind of irritation; you know, a Russian millionaire's toy!
