I have enclosed a link to a site which outlines both the Bachman and Peter Chen notations of an inventory ERD. I would go with the Peter Chen notation if you can because it even shows the relationship of an overpaid bill.

The site is also good for showing general notation and can help you review the subtle differences in relationships.

Enjoy!

The data flow would mainly illustrate how actions trigger changes in status in various data stores. For example, the action of checking out a book might change the status of the book from available to unavailable and increase the itemsCheckedOut counter of the member. Having an item become overdue would also likely trigger certain actions (flagging the member to prevent further checkouts, sending a letter to the member, etc.)
