Second, you must divide (multiply if you were going from metres to feet) the price per foot by the conversion number squared. Why squared? Because it's in square feet, that's why. When you calculate area you multiply two linear values. If you have the linear conversion rate, you need to use that twice to compensate. In the end, it would be about $290 per square metre.
