The easiest thing to do is when it finds it as a error (which it obviously isn't) just dont click repair or delete. You will notice when u scan it finds the same thing, i think it's like notify something or other, when u delete or fix that, thats when you get the problem your stating.

I've been using Spybot since if was first released and have never had that happen. It sounds like you have a bogus version of Spybot that is actually spyware itself. Sadly there are scumbags out there who do just that sort of thing.

Uninstall Spybot and download the genuine article from this link:

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

Never download it from anywhere else!

If you in fact have a genuine version of Spybot it's likely that you also have a spyware infection that Spybot can't deal with, possibly a rootkit, that is disabling your firewall whenever Spybot runs.

it wont be spybot that has disabled the firewall, check your anti-virus and im allmost sure this has disabled the windows firewall
some anti-virus programs(avp,s) like norton have firewalls built in and as you cant run 2 firewalls at once ,norton will disable the windows firewall unless you disable the norton firewall
simply go into the avp settings and disable the firewall ,windows will then recognize the disabled firewall and enable the windows firewall,if not enable it your self
there is a entry in spybot that comes up...disabled windows firewall...i had it when i had norton anti-virus installed ,this is nothing to worry about, its just a security alert but as you know your securty settings, theres no problem
the avp,s that disable windows firewall are
1)norton 2) mcafee 3) panda 4)bit defender
5) trend
any probs let me know

No, you may run spybot S&D with the full gadget working, no problems with Norton.NB the main modern-day variations of Norton cyber web protection (2008+) would combat with the spybot "Teatimer" utility, yet they have a stable adequate detection to no longer worry with TT. Spybot is very stable at catching issues like monitoring cookies that Norton would not continually get

That's not normal. Spybot does not interfere with your firewall. You might have downloaded a bogus one. Also, it is one of the MOST USEFUL antispyware there is IF YOU KNOW HOW TO USE IT. It has so many builtin tools that are proactive or preventive, rather than just curative. You may want to go to some of those HijackThis specialist forums whose members interpret the HijackThis logs. They can tell you which items to delete, or which specific programs to use in dealing with very specific malware.

Try disabling the firewall prior to running the program.

hi, spyware is a disgusting and infamous virus. perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:
