I answer the questions I do for one reason, and for one reason only; to stimulate further growth and knowledge into all facets of known and unknown subjects, issues, and discourse equally for the person presenting the question and, for myself as well.
There are selected genuine questions that some individuals will present that hold merit or possess a validity to expound, reason or demonstrate an appropriate response to. I do not provide self opinionated or erroneous answers to an honest inquiring mind.
I am a professional educator and that does not give me the right to think I am any better than the student who has a question. Nor does it give me any right to think that I am anymore educated than the questioner in areas that I need to learn of myself.

Personally I will only answer real and honest questions and they're not hard to distinguish from the the others on Yahoo Answers but, they are often hard to find.
You ask what makes me answer the questions?

Because I know the answer and can actually help some people out....
but also because sometimes some of the racist questions piss me off and I want to tell them how stupid they are...
and some questions just seem like fun to answer...
as for this one, well I gave you a real answer, and I also got 2 points (another reason to answer =P )

In my case, I like to share my viewpoint , judge them by comparing with others', some questioners really need help, often to eradicate the feeling of loneliness and yes, bragging and thinking loud ~ sometime happen.
To me, the "question" is like a mirror...........

Because at a right time and at a right place, person has to sit in his chair before a computer and he/she do yahoo!answers. And this is really pre-destined. And you think you have done it.
