Some of the long wheel base series 3's owned by the army had the Perkins 2.5 crammed in.

Awkward job as the radiator had to be moved forward on special brackets, and the diff ratios had to be changed.

Er, they never did a Series LR with a 2.5 diesel...

You're best bet is to look in the enthusiast magazines (there was 3 LR's in this month's LR Owner in east anglia), alternatively the EADT, Adtrader website or ebay etc.

Incidentally, If you ever want a knackered 2.25 petrol engine, you can have mine. It's currently residing in my 80" Series One...
