1) a clearly defined hypothesis
2) devise methods of checking and cross-checking all information
3) define your methods of research clearly from the beginning
4) use graphs etc to create an image of the information you gather.
5) write a conclusion that has no new information in it... (All info presented in your conclusion should be presented throught the research document)
6) Define clearly what you did discover.

The best strategy for good research is to observe the object of reaserch , notice its behaviour, try to first understand the functioning of object then understand the technical fundamentals behind them, try to know for such similar objects and observe them to to distinguish between reaserch and similar objects for better understanding of reaserch object.
