If you're asking what 'cookies' are, that some sites keep and Internet Explorer tries to help you manage, they are little text files that internet sites can use to keep information.

They are either good (help the site remember you or provide better service), or bad (they track your moves, keep personal information, etc. w/out your consent).

Cookies are a special way to store information about your presence on a website. It can be a good day to save your preferences on that site such as theme or language or just sign in automatically on your next visit.
