There is no way to downgrade as of now, formatting your psp memory stick wont do anything, all it will do is remove the stuff off the stick, whence you install the firmware update you cant remove it until someone releases a pach that helps you downgrade, and just for the record the psp firmware is porgrammed in C/C++ hardcoding

well, not for the moment now. the maker of the downgrading software seemed to be having some problem with sony now. but i am quite sure u are able to do so once the coast is clear ..
check out http://www.psp-hacks.com/ for more details on psp stuffs. i had downgraded mine from 2.6 (original factory) to 1.5.

no it cant unless you reset everything if you want to you have to go to settings and click on restore factory settings is easy and with out doing that you can only upgrade and why would you wanna downgrade
