All I did was squat down yesterday, nothing out of the ordinary and felt something shift on the inside part of my right knee. Its been pretty sore. Ice helps a little but but much. My knee cap feels fine. I never had a knee problem before. Should I do something different?

No swelling.

The absence of swelling indicates that there is unlikely to be a ligament or cartilage tear. Chances are you have a bit of a weakness in the tissues or muscles surrounding the knee and this is pulling your joint off the "spot" so to speak. I would go to your doctor for a look at it if it remains painful as this could have caused a spur over time and this can break off and get nasty and cause problems if left too long.

no big deal to have it fixed, and worth the effort for a long life of no knee problem!

You could have a little bone chip or spur, depends on your weight and exercise, going into a quick squat like that could cause it to chip, depending on age and a lot of things, my friend had micro surgery and they toke out about 6 of these little chips that look like old indian arrow heads, really tiney. There is nothing to really pull there.

Don't do any thing. Just rub olive oil and avoid rice and milk. .
