We didn't have a say in being born, but who did? "Rules," generally speaking, are made basically for our own protection. A society of people left up to their own devices usually equals chaos.
If you feel like you're a "pawn in someone else's game," then you have to ask yourself why you are being controlled by that "someone else." If they are your parents, then the answer is obvious.
Most of the time when people are unhappy with their present situation in life, all they have to do is be logical with themselves. Just ask yourself: "Will I always feel this way?" "Will things always be this bad?" In reality, bad times pass away. Things aren't as bad later on as they seem to be right now. Just hunker down, bear through the bad times and you'll see--things always get better in time.

The poverty against which man has been struggling throughout history is not merely the poverty of material goods; the ennui and disorientation experienced by the members of the middle and upper classes in today's wealthy industrial nations have revealed the poverty of Western existench itself.
The problems that we face today cannot be traced to class conflict alone. It is not merely a question of the ruling class profiting at the expense of the proletariat, for we have seen that the profit that those with capital do make does not make their lives any more fulfilling. It does not matter whether a woman is buried alive in a prison, in a reform school, in a sweatshop, in a ghetto, in a prestigious university, in a condominium bought on credit, or in a mansion with a private swimming pool and tennis courts, so long as she is buried alive. Everyone suffers from today's status quo, albeit differently; but whether a man is starving on his minimum wage salary, exhausted by his repetitive responsibilities at the office, or befuddled by the curious feeling of emptiness that accompanies the undirected acquisition of material wealth, he has a stake in fighting for change. So we all, rich and poor, must band together to consider our situation and struggle to alter it.

When we are burdens to others ... when they are paying the bills ... we really do not resent the rules of others, or, even the RULE of others, as much as we resent ourselves for not being prepared well enough to be self-sufficient. When we take control of our own lives . . . the first step toward freedom. . . we focus on self-empowerment and developing self-sufficiency skills. We earn our self-sufficiency. Then, we make our own personal rules and decisions. Basically, whine about it and be a burden to someone forever, or, get really smart and take control of your life in a meaningful, mature way.

Yes, it's a burden, but you were born into this society, and it has rules to follow.
I've definitely felt the "existing" part, but life is what you make it. You are the captain of your own ship !

Of course we have laws that we have to conform to, otherwise you go to jail. I encourage you to think "outside the box". Money allows you to live and not to be stuck in poverty. Are we at the governments mercy? You bet.
Personally I am a survivor, so I look for opportunities. Hope is not easy to come by though.

We conform to the rules made by others because we accept their authority and because as a society we choose to live reasonably and well.
Why do you hate yourself? Why do you feel inadequate? Or am I just reading these things into your question?
Remember that you are like me--a human being to be valued, loved, and listened to. I accept rules because I respect myself and because there are others who need me.
Be grateful that you are who and what you are and try to live up to your potential. You are sufficiently articulate that I think that potential is high.

I definately think there is a time and place for anarchy :) It is the right of the next generation to challenge the rules and beliefs of the ones that came before them.

yeah.. once i come into this earth, the only certain thing is death. so there is no escape at all. (unlike, say rules of a society, where u can just stay alone on an island, n not subj yrself to any of the rules society made up)
i didn't make a choice to come to this earth, n be subj to all its natural rules rite. so can i not die? no. unfortunately. one has to abide by the rules of nature once u r born.
