Get a microdermabrasion facial from a local salon.

As far as at-home products, I have never found anything that works. The things that are marketed to get rid of blackheads don't do squat as far as I can see.

This seems to work:
1. Eat healthy food- fresh fruit, veg, fresh fish & lean meat. Avoid processed food, greasy, fatty, starchy stuff, i.e. no (or very little) battered things, no fried things, not too much breads, cakes, chocolate, sweets, crisps, etc etc. You know the drill. Basically all this junk comes back out through your pores, mixes with some dirt or pollution, and makes a beautiful black-head.
2. Drink LOTS of water, or watered-down fruit juice. Not coke, tango, coffee, or any other sugary, or cafeinated drink. Water. It will literally wash out your system, clean your skin from the inside. It will also put more moisture in your skin, so you can use less moisturising creams, which can add to blackheads. If you're a normal person, it will take a week or two to feel any benefits from the water. It also makes you pee a lot for the first few days which is a bit anoying, but for some reason this gets less... no idea why...
3. Wash your face & neck twice a day with a gentle face wash- avoid the harsh 'spot-treatment' facial washes. These do remove more oils, but this makes your skin produce more oils, etc so it only creates more problems.
4. After washing, use a good, non-alcoholic toner, which closes your pores.
5. Then put on a light facial moisturiser. It doesn't have to be expensive, just feel nice on your skin, and soak in without being greasy.
6. Finally, if you do get the odd spots (like we all do -even those in our 30s and 40s), if they get red and infected/yellow put on a little dab of Germolene or other anti-septic cream, or even Witch hazel cream in the morning and before going to bed.

Steps 1 and 2 will make the biggest difference- but are the hardest to keep going with. If you do it though, you'll look and feel better in general!
Good luck!
