No - because someone still needs to make the paper they work on, or produce the food they eat, or sell them the house they buy. In my experience, scientists or academics in general can barely tie their own shoe laces but can solve other things. We're all different and good at different things. You should feel proud that another human being has achieved something so great, but know that you can do things that they can't. I know one of the greatest legal brains in the country that doesn't know how to 'sort' on an excel spreadsheet.

No I'm thankful for all the discoveries that have made the world a better place for everyone. I'm not sure about the atom bomb. There isn't anyone that can make me feel useless. I have a life and I'm going to continue to live it to the best of my ability. I have a sister-in-law who is a scientist that made a discovery and she is still the same person she has always been to me. No more or no less. Man. . . don't let anyone make you feel less than they are or better than they are.

It's your ambitions that matter. If you feel useless, develop yourself. I don't feel useless and enjoy life a lot!

There are people who are destined for greatness and others who condemn themselves to a lifetime of mediocrity.
But everyone has a role to play.
