No.Microwave ovens heat by molecular movement which causes friction between the molecules which generates the heat to cook.the molecules are excited by a frequency of around 2450 mega hertz.the cooking cavity is also a Faraday cage which confines the waves to the inside of the oven ,further more the door is surrounded by a substance that acts as a radio frequency shield.and the gap around the door is also smaller than 12cm which the wave length of 2450 mega hertz ,The door is also monitored by primary and secondary switches which automatically switch the oven off when the door is opened

I'm not too sure about reheating food, but I'm sure microwave meals are evil... Between synthetic food in it (like synthetic mashed potato), meat raised in appaling circumstances and on genetically modified grain that is treated with a load of chemicals, animals treated with anti-biotics to keep them alive in disease ridden conditions - AND heating the plastic container in a microwave - I reckon it plays a part in the cancer epidemic gripping society... But it's ultimately unprovable in this day and age, so is just speculation. You are what you eat, and I don't much fancy having the cells of my body made up of man-made chemicals. :-/

no....not the food itself... but running a microwave everyday is.... so is using a computer, cell phone and watching TV. All of these things send off radiation, which causes cancer if exposed for very long. Hope this helped.

There is no proven fact that microwave cooking causes cancer. Instead, as all the vitamins are not lost by this, it is only good for health
