You need to warm your muscles up before you stretch them, and be careful not to over-stretch them. When you stretch, it should be uncomfortable....but not painful.

could be a hernia, my husband had one and had to get it removed now it doesnt hurt anymore..(check if any really tiny lumps in that area)
