Rubbish. You would have all sorts of murders under the guise of mercy killing. The lawyers would have a field day.

Yes mercy killing should be allowed provided the family members are really not going to care for the person, or the person has asked for one. It is of no use if the person who is suffering and does not want to live in pain, be allowed to live just because the Dr's are not allowed to kill. the government or the political leaders should take this as a point and collect votes from the public opinion and then decide to have it as law.
What is the use to make a person suffer when it knows it is going to die only with pain on the sick bed. I am not saying that this should be allowed for any prisoner.
This should never be allowed to any prisoner, as they should realise what pain is.

Yes, if a patient is in vegetable condition & could never be retrieved, or if a person is sufferring from any incurable disease, with intolerable pain & giving his full consent for the doing, or if any child is born with multiple diasabilities & could not survive without any support for its life time for even basic needs of life & it is mentally good then it would be justified for a mercy killing to avoid a pyschological torture to the child through out its life.
But any mercy killing should be decided by panel of Doctors with the full consent of patient & relatives & should get permission from a judicial forum & in the presence of police personnel with public witnesses it should be executed. the whole exercise should be recorded for future reference.

Yes, in cases of untreatable pain or the necessity of machines or other extraordinary measures to stay alive.
Some years ago, senior citizens were polled as to who were their heros. The Number One response? Jack Kevorkian.

Yes!, the person would have to be terminally ill or in unbearable pain . Through record (paperwork and video), under supervision, and with witnesses should this action take place.
No one should have the power to keep your body going through chronic pain and discomfort.
