Why do all the Trk & Fd race events are run counter clockwise?

This is a very good question! I honestly don't know, but it must have started around the time of the Greeks (or roughly around then). Races (chariot, running, etc) were very important to the Greeks. I'm guessing it roots from them, and they must have had their reasons for it.
My best guess is that most people are right legged/armed. If you run counter clockwise, your dominant leg (right) will be on the outside and give you more of a push where it needs it the most. If you run the other direction, your left leg is outside and if its your weak leg, you are disadvantaged.
Hope there's a Classics/Greek Studies major online here who can tell us for sure!

WOW large question im geussing so as that the runners dont concentration or the time and purely attempt to run not ordinary to come again in time :P I even do not understand i purely made that up .....and purely because you placed a mile lengthy answer dosent advise they'll chosen you for brilliant answer maximum folk wouldnt even worry to examine that...i understand i didnt

In ancient Greece, the civilization that started the Olympic games and all the athletic events, the runners made the run in a stadium (apr 190m) anti-clockwise. We keep that till now

Because the rules state that races around the track will be run "left-hand" inside. When they standardized the procedures, they had to pick one direction and that's the one they picked.
