yahoo chess "suck"s because it is not professionl grade- its jsut for people who dabble around the land of net-games to waste time....if you want a good serious chess site go to ICC (google ICC or Internet Chess Club) :)

I hardly ever play on Yahoo chess anymore simply because I've had way too many bad experiences. I've been abused by people way more skilled than I and yet they just want to pick on less skilled opponents. I've also had experiences where the opponent will make a bad mistake and I take advantage of it by capturing a piece and I'll immediately get kicked out of the room, or they'll just quit. Bad sportsmanship will ruin any game. I take my chess beatings like a man, I stay and finish the game no matter how embarrassing it is. If more people were like that, Yahoo chess wouldn't be so bad.

The reason why some people dislike chess is because people do not know how to play the game, and they get very frustrated. I think it has nothing to do with the game, but have everything to do with if you know how to play the game or not.
