Definitely, I see gender bias every time I go to work.

I work in an outdoor retail store. The department I would like to work in (bikes) is totally dominated by men; there are no female associates in the department. I have a decent extensive knowledge with bikes and have tried many times to work in the department. However, I keep getting turned down by the various assistant managers and supervisors while they hire other people (men) to fill open positions within the department. I even talked to the manager in charge of the department repeatedly and he has said some very biased remarks about a female working in the department -- yet we have customers ask why there aren't any females working in the bikes department.

YES! Absolutely.

USA - Just lately I heard about an older woman that was fired from her work in a church because the pastor was going by something in the Bible - I believe it had something to do with women being second class, and in her position, she wasn't (and she'd been doing the job for ages!) I wish I knew all the particulars, but it's not pretty, needless to say.
