I think this had to do with the evolvement of the Cold War. You see, right after WW2, we entered the realm of fear of superpowers having nuclear weapons... the Cold War.

I have actually written some papers on this.... the USA was responsible for the Cold War after flexing their nuclear muscles with Hiroshima and Na. So basically, other superpowers woke up and said, "What the hell... we better get nuclear weapons too because those maniacs are willing to use them."

So our 'speak softly but carry a big stick' policy was over. We had crossed the line and caused a cascade of nuclear weapon developement. From that point on, we had to begin to stick our noses in everybody's business or else we would have no idea who would end up with nuclear weapons.

The US was maneuvered into the war by events leading up to and including pearl harbor. Some said that Russia had turned the tide against Germany and if we didn't get in there, we would have been looking at a communist Europe.

Because we were drug into the war kicking and screaming, Japan saw to that. We didn't want to get involved, but when people try to over take you, you have to push back. The kind of thinking that got us into the war, is the same thinking we are fighting now. Communism or terrorism what ever you want to call it.

Because we figured out that there is a lot of money in war. In the meantime war is our best export item and we conduct it as a business. Professionally and wherever required. Death and human suffering do not matter at all, since humans are a regrowing resource and are expandable like gravity.
In case you haven't noticed... the U.S. doesn't value life at all. All that matters to us are resources such as oil, and of course money and control.

Because they thought they would become the police of the world. I just think they thought that if they actually started putting their nose into everyone else's buisness they wouldnt get attacked again.

Sounds like a homework assignment to me.
You need to read your history book instead of cheating.
