How old did your ferrets live to? (or how old are they now?) Also- how old were they when you noticed them "slowing down"?

my oldest Hercules is 7 (human years), xena, achilles aka akiller, buffy, lestat are all 5. they all have grey and silver. hercule likes to be carried now. be careful with their eating habits if they get to big their hind legs and spine will suffer later in life. also if you have any recling furniture PLEASE!!!! ferret proof it because they are EXTREMELY curious and will get into the springs and all and if you don't know they are there a folding recliner is deadly.

I do not own ferrets, but I work at an ER clinic that sees them frequently. On average I'd say they'll live 5-8 years, I have seen a few older, but rarely. They are prone to several serious illness as they age, so if yours is slowing down, have your vet do bloodwork and x-rays to make sure everything is normal .I dont mean to scare you, but ferrets have an very high rate of cancer ( typically a tumor called insulinomas)

Life span of ferrets is around 12 years, most die of cancer between 6 - 8 years of age. Slow down around 5 years.

i had a ferret before , she die when she was 8 years old , she slow down when she was 5 , if my memory is right!

One lived for 6 yrs with three surgerys .He died from adreanal glad disease.The second one died at 3 from liver fauilure and a enlarged heart and the last one died at 3 from lyphoma cancer.The marshal ferrets were friendlier but didnt live long.The ferret that didnt come from marshals wasnt as friendly and lived longer.

my pet ferret "fei fei" died of old age 6 months back at rhe age of 5. The slowing down period was when they are not active and start to pee,if you carry/cuddle them. They are very inteligent /active pet. Want his photo? My fei fei loves cooked prawns.

They don't live all that long do they?
I have two...both won't be a year old for another couple of months or so.
I am going to be heartbroke when the pass away.
