We had to do jobs around the house to earn pocket money, some of which we had to keep and put in the church collection, and some of which we had to save. Considering I got 70p a week when I was 10 years old that did not amount to much! As I got older I got a Saturday job, and was then expected to contribute to anything I wanted to buy (I would put in a 3rd of the cost and my parents would pay 2 thirds.) I think it taught me well as I learnt to respect that things cost money and should therefore be looked after. Don't get me wrong my parents were not mean and I got treats along the way, but they taught me a valuable lesson.

I have chores to do at home, but not because of money. If you're part of the family, you've got to do chores, but my parents will give me money whenever they feel I need it. Usually when I go back to school, or need to buy something etc.

I paid $120/mo in rent to my mom/stepdad when I was 14 years old.
I worked at a 7-11 on a College campus sorting beer cans and bottle returns for 4.15/hr.

yupp pocket money. for use in school. i do chores and errands but dont get paid. its just helping out.

I don't live at home, but my parents still give me money here and there just cause they are my parents and they will always take care of me!! I have good parents and I love them dearly!!

i get money almost every day and i usually get anything i ask for but i still think that it's not right to do nothing for it so you should do something nice for them

nope MY parents NEVER give me $$$ for nothing :(
i have to do ironing/washing/cooking/cleaning etc..anything to earn my $$ so rest assured ur not the only one!
