Return it. If you don't it could hurt your business if they find they gave you the money and you didn't say anything. Word of mouth is a bad thing and that would get around. Besides they would return and more an likely give you a tip/gift since you were honest. I've done this in my own business practice in the past and I got more then I orginally returned afterward. I also do it to the people who have returned my overpayment.

If you were the payor...what would you want the payee to do? Would you really think...well my mistake...you can just just keep the $100? If your answer is "yes", first you have no morals and second NEVER go into business for yourself. You will fail.

Don't be stupid. Return the money that does not belong to you.

You bet I'd return it. It's probably a test. But if I find money laying around on the floor or in a customer's pants pocket, it's mine, mine, mine....down...down..down. Finders, keepers.

Return it. Keeping it, even though it was their mistake, would be like stealing for me.

Do the right thing. It's like investing in your future. If you spend it, you've got a hundred bucks of knick-knacks, if not, you can say to yourself for the rest of your life, "I did the right thing"
