dont come across as desperate and dont lach on to some one staigt of the mark smile at sombody at first and see if they smile back if they do go up to em and ask em where your first lesson is on your time table. they will prob show you the way ask em somthing like wot the teacher is like or what ever then hopefuly itll spark a conversation usualy u get put with sombody on the first day so at least you will know that u woint be left alone but all u need to do is make lioght not too hevy converation like u have a good summer if u have moved to a new area completly somthing like whats it like in the summer is there much to do?

it aint easy making friendds some times and try not be too nervouse just coz there were igronant *** holes in your last scholl dont mean it gonna be the same in this just chill breath easy and relax its ment to be fun! youll be fine

Smile. Seriously, just smile. So many people don't realize they appear standoffish when they encounter a new situation. Smiling changes the entire atmosphere around you. It may sound corny and overly simple but it's the easiest way to snag someone's attention and hold it.
Small compliments are another real easy way to attract new people, but don't forget to give your opinions freely. You don't want to come off as a doormat to be walked on.

The best way is to simply be yourself. I'm now in my 4th school, and this works for me. If you have any interest in clubs that the school offers, joining those is a good way to meet people (and this way you can always start a conversation with them about whatever you're doing!)

if you play a sport then join the team! sports are definitely a great way to meet new people! you can also learn about team building. if you are into music or theatre, band or the drama department is a good place to start! introduce yourself to the people in your classes. i am sure they would be happy to get to know you! just be yourself and act confident. if you look like you are comfortable in the situation (even if you aren't!) people will notice and give you definite kudos!

The best way is to be an acheiver!!! People around you will respect you - keep your mind in the books and they will come to you. you will never catch 'em - like a dog chasing his tail - stay focussed
