Good advice so far, but be careful if you block the domain. It's quite easy to spoof the "from" or "reply-to" fields (especially if you have your own mail server), to make it appear as if you're coming from hotmail or msn or somewhere that's normally legitimate.

Don't reply, whatever you do - that will tag your address as "premium" and you will get loads of rogue emails.

Usually, the username is changed with every message so blocking the sender might not be as effective as you hoped.

Unfortunately, every e-mail address gets put on a spam list eventually - it takes just one rogue user to receive a joke e-mail that has gone to thousands of people (they usually seed the joke themselves to harvest the e-mails).

The best thing to do is change your e-mail address.

spam is better than deleting. And if u have the option of blocking the email or the entire domain from which the email was sent this is a better option. Contact ur administrator.

Spam. Get a spam guard and they will be automatically sorted out for you. You can then either delete them or they will disappear after a period of time.
