The Egyptians first put forth the notion of one single god, but it didn't take. Later in the 600's BCE Hebrews in exile in Babylon studied all sorts of religions and when they were released they decided to invent their own to unite the Hebrew people under one god, despite the fact that the Hebrews had always worshiped many gods such as Baal and Moloch, and they wrote the Torah, or Old Testament. Some of it word of mouth history and mythology, some of it lists and lists of ancestors, some weird measurements of religious artifacts, as if to allow people to build "new" versions, the rest completely made up or misrepresented facts designed to glorify and entitle Hebrews to ownership of Israel, like inventing Solomon and putting on him the facts of the historical but non-Hebrew Omrides. They also threw in some philosophy and art, mostly borrowed from Babylon and the rest of the world.

Later the Christians got a hold of the idea and ran with it.

Great question, the answer as it was put to me by my priest at a young age is the "mystery of eternity" Our minds couldn't fathom how or where god came from. Who knows? No one, I doubt even the people in the afterlife. I know there is a god....nothing else... not that he sent his son or anything like that. Just that he is there and designed our universe. However it is nice to think that someone might be watching out for us who created himself.

God is a concept by witch human meseare their pain.

God exist because we thing about it.

God has been invented by a desperate human being who lost faith in imself and in the people surrounding him. Given the fact it worked for him, he made a buisness out of it.

This makes sence if you look at the bloody, impatiant, untolerant, scared and belligerant human nature.

A lost soul need something or someone to turn to in time of pain. Something to have hope for, to be hooked on, someone who listen. So instead of being looked like a fool talking to himself, you have one that speak to an imaginary icon.

It's not a bad thing when you think about it,because for the time of a prayer, one dosen't commit something else....whatever that might be.

God is made by anyone who belive in him.

Now about religion......hm!
