Yes, whoever is managing that proxy server will be able to see every little thing you do online. Of course, they may not necessarily be taking advantage of that capability, but if they want to, they can see everything.

From a corporate IT management point of view, that is one of the nice advantages of using a proxy server.

Whoever has control of the Proxy server has the ability to view and filter everything.

This included HTTPS (secure connections).

The only way to prevent this would be to setup a VPN connection from your desktop/laptop to an external trusted source. Then browse the Internet from the external trusted source. For example, your home computer.

You didn't see the question by the guy that was fired for checking his personal email on company time. He want to know if his firing was legal.

Several of my ex-employees thought Proxy Servers worked so my IT wouldn't know what they were doing. That is why they are EX-employees. You all think the IT pros are all idiots. If you can use proxies at your company and get away with it, it's because the management are idiots and won't support and budget the IT properly. The IT's know what you are doing, but don't have the resources to prove it. You're lucky to have Ostrich's (head in the sand) for mgmt.
