I have tried spybot and a few more free spyware and adware programs but they are not working. Can someone please help as it is not my own laptop it is actually my parents.

I know what it is to go under this pression and especially because is your parents' computer. I would think using Windows Defender and some only scanning will solve your problem. All those are shown below :)

Since your laptop is infected with a virus, anti-spyware software will not find or remove it. You need a real antivirus program. I recommend AVG Antivirus, which is an excellent and very effective program that happens to be free for personal use.

Try to install Norton Anti-virus.

You need a good virus scanner, thats all. Spybot and stuff wont work here.

You could get this one http://www.free-av.com/, it is for free and is one of the best.

If you have 2K or XP the "smitfraudfix" should fix your problem?
