What is there best to buy in Melbourne?

In my opinion, the cakes on Ackland street and the interesting shops on Chappel st.
Lots of nice food, particularly greek food.
Very cold in winter and very hot in summer.
And thats about as unbiased a Sydneyborn person can be...

Since it's home to Australia's biggest fashion show, Melbourne is pretty famous for being a good place to pick up some great clothes, by big name, and up & coming designers.

Also, Melbourne has a kick-**** live music scene, and it's record stores are fantastic.
