I have 1 yr(approx) exp in java & j2ee then 1.5 yrs exp in IT but non programming track i.e. indian language localization support track, now i am thinking to take sap (ABAP or BASIS) training for recovering the gap. Previously i have 4 yrs NON-IT exp too before entering in IT track.. I am 35 yrs old. My qns is....

1) Have i taken right decision ?
2) If yes, which one i need to prefer SAP ABAP or BASIS ?
3) If No, suggest me what i will do ?
4) If i do sap then i need to start from base(will join as a trainee after sap training) then is there any problem i will face in future for getting job on behalf of my age ?

The answer to your question depends on any of a number of imponderables, including which tools companies in your area are using, if you are interested in relocation for employment, etc. However, I can tell you that in my experience SAP is substantially more prevalent in large business environments that BASIS. Your mileage may vary. Good luck.
