It depends on how much muscle they have, and how agile they are.

I would say they can, but because of their weight they shouldn't because they could seriously hurt themselves.

YES. On an episode of MTV Cribs an extremely fat man did a dope backflip. They called it the fat flip or something along those lines...

Absolutely, I saw one who did it with one hand behind her back!

I also know lots and lots of thin people who can't do back flips, front flips or even walk in a straight line.

It's amazing what people can do. People do what they push themselves to achieve, regardless of their size.

Have you not noticed that a lot of people wear flip flops all the time. Its because they are cheap...well unless your one of those idiots who spends 30 dollars on one pair. And also because they are comfortable.

you cant define a person who can do a back flip based on his size. it just depends on whatever that person can do it not, just like some people can really draw and some cannot.
