i'll repeat a line i heard from another answerer a few weeks ago:
I'd rather walk down the street carrying a chevy hubcap than drive a ford.
Hilarious!
Seriously, though, Ford is in real trouble. It can't seem to scrape itself off the ground after it got flattened by Toyota. GM is busting its @ss to put out good quality/good value cars now to stay competitive. It's a much better buy.

lets have a different view of this! I'm a certified master mechanic, and have worked on many vehicles in my 40+ years of my career. I have a degree in engineering, and I'm a certified machine builder with a background in computer technology, and robotics. Lets say I have built the machines that build the cars you drive. I'm going to give you some solid advise! Ask any mechanic out there, and IF he is honest he will tell you "Fords keep him in business". Fords are more expensive to have repaired, and are one of the most unreliable vehicles on the market. As far a government recalls for problems with their vehicles, Ford again leads the way! You can check this out, and you will find it is a fact! I'll agree that Fords are somewhat quieter to ride in, but this must be someone who has never rode in a good General Motors vehicle such as a caddy. I don't THINK Chevy's are better, I KNOW Chevy's are better! I can back this up with data from the NTSB for complaints and recalls. Now, which had you rather push a Ford or a Chevy?

I would say Chevy, but as long as it is American, it doesn't really matter. Chevy makes some BA engines. The 350 is the king of small blocks! And the 454 is totally RAW AMERICAN POWER. The new 572, all I can say is HOLY S**T! Not that Ford and Dodge don't have any nice engines, the Hemi is a decent engine, and the Ford 308, is also a tough engine, but go for the Chevy!

Started with a 1973 Chevy Nova, lasted 150,000 miles, several cross-country trips from L.A. to Toledo and back and forth. Then had a 1983 Nissan Sentra, also lasted around 150,000. Then a 1992 Toyota Corrolla, 437,000 miles. I am currently in a 2005 Chevy Cobalt. Very quiet, very impressed with the gas milege and how it rides. Rides like a much bigger car. So I would say go for the Chevy.

grab hold of some common ground here, you are both right and both wrong. ford does sit better, comfortable, has a better ride, but chevys are more dependable, personally mom, no hard feelings, but i would put my daughter in a dependable car, may give up some comfort, but she will make it to where she is going. besides if she ends up in a ford you will never here the end of it, she will not be happy and will nit pick it to death and on the other hand daughter, if mom pays for it you will have to be happy to have your own car, no matter what she buys and you need to tell her thank you and you love her. hey mom, think back, did you have a choice on your first car

This is a time old dispute and it will always be but my opionion I like Chevy. Go with what you like and let your mom keep her ford's not unless she is buying you the car and in that case shut up and say thank you for what ever car it is even if it's a ford pinto.

Chevy's are better and are easy to work on. My husband have a 1993 Chevy S-10 pick-up used and it is still going. We owned a Ford and we had problems with it. The Ford Company we took it to had messed up our oil gasket and they didn't wanna fix it so we traded it for a brand new 2002 Honda Civic Lx.
So if you ever wanna buy a vehicle buy a Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Nissan, or a Chevy.
DON'T EVER BUY A F.O.R.D

def. go with the chevy. it'll be a million times more reliable. it's not just opinion anymore...chevy's are PROVEN better. fords quality has gone down the toilet, they are about to go bankrupt. GM is really trying hard to put out a quality vehicle, and they are succeeding. stick with chevys.
